Matt Matcham

PROFILE
Matt began coaching in Sport and Fitness in 2010. After starting his career coaching in Commercial Gyms, Matt soon focused his training after developing a keen interest in Strength and Conditioning, Olympic Weightlifting and training for Sports Performance. He now works as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for a number of Sports Teams as well as working with individuals coaching S&C for their specific sport.

During Matt’s own sporting career; his main sport was rowing, he was a part of the Team GB Rowing Start Program, a program set up by GB rowing to identify and develop potential Olympians. A key highlight was competing at Henley royal regatta in 2014.

Matt also has a keen interest in Olympic weightlifting and has a background playing representative rugby.

Matt also works for Cambridge University Sports Centre practicing in and providing Strength and Conditioning for the university Blues Teams as well as individual student and community athletes within a wide variety of sports. Sports include; Judo, Ice hockey, Athletics, Lacrosse, Cycling, Netball, Snowsports, Fencing and more. His highlight so far has been working with the University’s men’s Lightweight Rowing Squad, providing their Strength and Conditioning programming and coaching and seeing them win the Boat Race at the 2015 and 2016 Henley boat race against Oxford.
